Manny will still be Manny as a member of the Red Sox and I can't be happier. There was virtually no way that the Red Sox could replace his presence in the lineup with what was being offered in various trades. Manny got up to plate today as a pinch hitter to roaring ovations and swiftly showed us why we love him (see "Manny: They Love Me Here") by driving in the winning run. I'm thrilled with Manny staying and while I'd have liked to get some bullpen help, I'm happy that we didn't trade any of our top prospects. Jon Papelbon looked strong today and Manny Delcarmen has been great. Curt Schilling should be back in the rotation soon. I love our chances to win the division and go deep in the playoffs.
