Sox Fans Getting Scalped

Once again one of the Boston newspapers, this time the Globe, has an article about the antiquated anti-scalping laws and how they are not being enforced.  We have seen previous "investigations" into this system of highway robbery that is allowing ticket brokers to grab so many of the tickets out of the hands of fans who should be able to go to a ballgame at a reasonable cost.   

Give Me Larry Bird!

I thought I was a big Larry Bird fan but this guy from Oklahoma City has me beat.   He will have plenty of time to look watch and read about the exploits of Larry.   

Prayers with London

My prayers are with London this morning in the wake of this cowardly attack against innocents by these barbaric terrorists. Seeing images of the carnage in London this morning brought back 9/11 and the flood of emotions I felt on and after that date. One of the strongest emotions continues to be anger against the perpetrators coupled with a resolve that we must do all we can to prevent these attacks. Pray for the victims and their families and all of those injured.

Time to Put this Dog Down

The attacks on players former and current on all major Boston sports teams are troublesome enough . The false allegations regarding Nomar Garciaparra being named by Jose Canseco as a steroid user and refusing his World Series ring were laughable. These insults to the intelligence of fans and the integrity of players pale to fact that BDD has continued an unabated campaign of obfuscation and hateful and disgusting portrayals disguised as humor. The excuse that BDD is not part of the Globe is ridiculous, as it is linked to and part and parcel of Boston.com's sports section. In the past, the Boston Globe has ignored the pleas of it's readers and customers and Red Sox fans because it continues to make money off of this site. We have had enough. Nothing less than the shuttering of this site by the Boston Globe would be acceptable. Until such time, a boycott exists of the Boston Globe and its parent the New York Times Company and all of its affiliated companies.
